"Over the past few years, we've seen a string of projects in which musicians provide live scores to old silent films. This includes 1923's The Grub-Stake, which was screened with musical accompaniment at the Vancouver Film Festival in 2012. This spring, that performance — entitled The Grub-Stake Revisited — will be coming to Calgary, Ottawa and Toronto.

The Canadian film is about a young woman who travels to the Yukon during the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush. The accompanying music was created by Whitehorse/Montreal-based composer Daniel Janke and is performed by the Longest Night Ensemble; this group includes Janke along with Jesse Zubot (Fond of Tigers, Dan Mangan), Peggy Lee, Andrea McColeman and Jordy Walker..."
