See www.helenpridmore.ca for updates! Helen Pridmore enjoys a career focused on contemporary scored music, experimental music and improvisation. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in December 2012, performing the music of John Cage with the American Symphony Orchestra. As a frequent guest of Aventa Ensemble in Victoria, Helen has performed major works by Philippe Leroux and Michael Finnissy, with a new work by Finnissy slated for premiere in 2016. Helen also premiered a new multi-disciplinary opera by WL Altman and David Fancy in Regina, in October 2015.

Helen is a member of the new music ensemble Motion2 and the voice/electronics improvisation duo Sbot N Wo. For 2015-16 Motion2 presents concerts in France, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick; meanwhile Sbot N Wo launched its new CD “Songs” with a five-concert tour of the Maritimes in June 2015. Helen has two other CDs, released in 2013 on the Canadian Music Centre’s Centrediscs label: Janet, featuring works for solo voice, and …between the shore and the ships… with clarinetist Wesley Ferreira, which won an East Coast Music Award for Best Classical Recording in 2013.

In 2014, Helen joined the Faculty of Media, Art and Performance (MAP) at the University of Regina. There, she continues her busy performing schedule while contributing to the university’s rich program of interdisciplinary studies, teaching in music and creative technologies.
