Announcing the Canadian Music Centre Piano Series

On the 13th of every month come to the Canadian Music Centre in Toronto to hear the best and brightest performers present works on our Steingraeber & Söhne grand piano. After each concert join us for a tasting of wine.

Tickets $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

ISN'T IT NEO-ROMANTIC? The 21st Century Virtuoso
Stephanie Chua, piano

What makes a piece neo-romantic? Is it a return to tonality? The sweep of gesture? A hummable melody? Stephanie Chua returns to the Canadian Music Centre with a romantically-fired programme featuring lyrical works by two 20th century Eastern European composers, boldly paired with music by French and French-Canadian icons Pascal Dusapin and Jacques Hétu.

Leslie Ting, violin

Toronto-based Leslie Ting performs thrilling new music for violin, juxtaposed by two piano trios; Ana Sokolovic's "Portrait Parle" of 2006 and Jocelyn Morlock's "Asylum" of 2010. A freshly revised version of Brian Harman's À la fois crowns the programme.
