Programme Note:
In divino intelletto (2001) is the fourth in a cycle of pieces for voice, electronics, and acoustic instruments. Each of these pieces sets a passage from Dante's Vita Nuova, a collection of poems framed by a narrative describing his love for Beatrice and the circumstances of his writing the poems. The fragments of text are connected by a common theme: two are serene visions of Beatrice’s perfection and two are nightmarish visions of his own despair.-BL
