On Friday, January 25th, Christina and Constantine will be hosting an exhibition at the Canadian Music Centre’s Chalmers House of the paintings Christina was inspired to paint after recording VISIONS: The Complete Books of Rhapsodies and Fantasias, a new Centrediscs recording. Compositions were written by Constantine Caravassilis, who has synesthesia. Christina writes:

“Having often discussed Constantine’s synesthesia, I was curious whether we saw his Rhapsodies and Fantasias in the same colors. Much to our surprise and delight, we did. Because the music lends itself so easily to visualization, we named the project Visions. As of now, the music has inspired 102 paintings.”

A selection of these 102 paintings will be on display at Chalmers House from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, January 25th and Christina and Constantine will be present to answer questions and play selections of the works on the CMC’s new Steingraeber piano. This event is free, and refreshments will be served.
