Description:

The Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902) was won by the British following the destruction of the Boer farms and the establishment of concentration camps in which 26,000 women and children perished. This photograph shows one of 34 Concentration Camps totalling approximately 110,000 inhabitants, the majority being children.
