Claude Schryer

Since 1999, Claude Schryer is coordinator of the Inter-Arts Office the Canada Council for the Art (http://canadacouncil.ca/interarts/) whose mandate is to ‘develop policy and manage programs in multidisciplinary arts, interdisciplinary arts and new artistic practices'. He currently coordinates the Artists and Community Collaboration Program committee and the Multidisciplinary Workgroup. He has also been involved in research activities about arts-based cross-sectoral collaborations, such as art and health and art and ecology. Schryer studied composition at Wilfrid Laurier University (BA Mus, 1977-81), interdisciplinary arts and new music at The Banff Centre for the Arts (1981, 85, 93) and composition at McGill University (Master Mus, 1982-89). His professional and artistic activities are principally in electroacoustics, interdisciplinary art, acoustic ecology and media arts.
