“It was the fall of the Berlin Wall which initially gave me the idea of writing a work based on political texts. I chose the theme of revolution as it seemed the subject with potentially the greatest historical, geographical, and political scope, a subject which would allow me to explore many aspects of a common human experience. From the rich body of literature inspired by revolution, I chose six pieces to create a portrait of the revolutionary experience. The work is in three sections, each comprising two songs.”
