Canadian Music Centre and Yamaha Canada Music Present:
About Dorico music notation software

by musicians – FOR musicians

Contemporary composers face the eternal struggle of representing boundless imagined soundworlds within the language of notation. By extension, composers often require work-arounds in order to best represent their ideas within notation software.

Dorico is a new application that helps composers write, print, and play back music notation and we are excited to offer you a glimpse into this scoring software.

This session will provide:

  • A unique opportunity for composers to see inside the Dorico software and understand its interface
  • Real-time demonstrations of new features, and solutions tailored to composers of specialized music (classical, electronic, jazz, film, and more)
  • Questions and answers with audience and viewers

Attendees can join us in person, or stream the session online, and have an opportunity to ask questions of John Barron—musician and the Product Specialist Scoring – International at Steinberg Media Technologies. John has been with this software since it was developed.

Individuals who register to join online will receive a link to the livestream on the day of the session. Please note that our event form may prohibit registration for folks with international addresses. In either case, attendees are welcome to visit the following link on Monday in order to join the event remotely:
