On the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year, JJ Productions is presenting a one-night only concert: A Celebration of Chinese Music Old and New.

This unforgettable concert will feature performances by the 2013 winner of the Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition - pianist Everett Hopfner; recipient of Canada’s Juno music award micro-grant - flutist Jiajia Li; renowned spinto soprano Shana Yang; as well as the one and only Calgary Chinese Orchestra, who has been performing and advocating Chinese music for 20 years.

Experience the evolution of Chinese music with traditional classics played on Si Zhu (strings and bamboo instruments) contrasting with exciting new works written by Chinese composers living in North America - Vincent Ho, Ka-nin Chan, and Stephen Yip.
