Prairie Sounds Fall 2014

December 22, 2014

Happy holidays all!
The end of the year is fast approaching and John and I will take some time away from the office. The Prairie Region office will reopen on Monday, January 5. I hope that during this season of warmth and joy that you will find some time to spend relaxing with family and friends.

If any of you are still looking for gifts for any hard-to-buy for music lovers on our list don't forget to check out our Centredisc page(http://www.musiccentre.ca/recordings/centrediscs) for loads of hot-off-the-presses Canadian CDs and mp3s. Recent releases include Magister Ludi featuring the music of Prairie composer Gordon Fitzell and Nicole Lizee's Bookburners, featuring Brandon pianist Megumi Masaki. Or make a donation in their name at: http://www.musiccentre.ca/donations.

We are so grateful to all of you who have already supported the CMC in 2014. Without donations from people like you we wouldn't be able to do the work we do to support and promote Canada's composers. If you have not yet made a donation please consider making a contribution at: http://www.musiccentre.ca/donations.

This issue of Prairie Sounds features a look at the David Kaplan collection at the University of Saskatchewan, as well as lots of news from the Prairies and our Prairie composers.
