Canada’s New Orford String Quartet showcases its “ravishingly beautiful tone” in its second Mooredale Concerts performance in two years. On the program are Ravel’s riveting String Quartet in F, and the first Toronto performance of “Journal: String Quartet No. 2”, by Canadian composer Tim Brady – a work that was an immediate hit at its world premiere this past summer in Quebec.
The widely heralded Quartet, which comprises principal players from the Toronto and Montreal Symphony Orchestras, concludes the concert with Mozart’s Quintet in G minor, with guest artist Teng Li, the Toronto Symphony’s internationally acclaimed principal viola.
