Hello. I am new here. I am a musician (not yet a professional one) who lives in Grand Valley, Ontario and works a day job in Guelph, Ontario.

For many years I sought good true musicianship in what you could call the public sector, among other wage-slaves who wanted to rise above the daily grind and seek opportunities in earning a living through the creation and/or performance of music in public venues. It is however a very rare thing.

Ce Still Illuminé provient de L'ombre blanche, un film projeté pendant l'acte V du cycle de neuf chants L'étoile libre. Cette oeuvre de la compositrice Michelle Boudreau a été présentée en grande première au Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, le 21 février 2011 avec le mezzo-soprano Marie-Annick Béliveau.

Les sept premiers chants de ce cycle sont maintenant endisqués sous le titre "Entre Belacqua et Nell" étiquette Centredisques; les deux suivants, sous le titre "L'étoile libre" étiquette Disques édition Mélusine.

The Dunhuang Chamber Ensemble and the Canadian Sinfonietta kicked off the Chinese New Year on Saturday February 16th at the Glenn Gould Studio with a diverse and fiery concert program.

The first half of the concert featured the Dunhuang Chamber Ensemble led by Anna Guo. The group masterfully performed four pieces of Chinese ensemble music, mesmerizing the audience with their fluid movements and impeccable solos performed by Guo on yanquin and zheng, and Xiao Qui Lin on erhu.
